Switchboards
Main distribution boards, control panels and reactive power compensation.
The switchboard is where the design meets reality. If the switchgear was chosen without a calculation, that becomes clear at the first short circuit — and then it is too late.
We prepare the full documentation for building the board and we install it on site, including the connection to the consumers and the setting of the protection.
Reactive power compensation is often underrated. With an inductive load and no compensation, the electricity bill carries penalties that over a year exceed the price of the capacitor bank.
Service description
The switchboard is the node where the supply, distribution and protection of the whole site come together. We prepare the documentation for its manufacture and carry out its installation and connection on site.
Designing a board is not arranging devices in a cabinet. It starts with calculating the short-circuit current at every point, checking that the chosen switchgear withstands those currents thermally and dynamically, and setting the protection so that a fault trips only the affected feeder rather than the whole board. That is called selectivity, and it is the difference between one stopped consumer and stopped production.
We work with main distribution boards, floor and sub-distribution boards, control and automation panels, reactive power compensation panels and medium-voltage switchgear. The documentation includes single-line diagrams, secondary circuit diagrams, switchgear layout and full specifications.
In maintenance we carry out periodic servicing, thermographic surveys of terminations, checking and resetting of protection, and extension of existing boards with new feeders.
